This Privacy Policy provides information about how the May Family Foundation (“MFF” “we,” “us,” and “our”) collects and uses information you provide on our website. 1. Information That May Be Collected.  

As used in this Privacy Policy, “personal information” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual. “Institutional information” means any information relating to your 501(c)(3)charitable organization. We collect most of this personal and institutional information directly from you by email and via our Site. We may collect and use the following information:

(a) Your legal name, mailing address, telephone number, email address(es), website address, tax identification number, and related 501(c)(3) filing information.

2. Uses of the Information.

(a) Limited Uses Identified. MFF will usepersonal or institutional information to respond to inquiries, correspond, andissue grant dispersal checks.

(b) Marketing Uses. The personal and institutional information you provide to the Site will not be collected, used, analyzed and/or processed by MFF, or any third parties on MFF's behalf, for marketing purposes.

(c) Stored Information Uses: MFF stores and retains the information entered on the MFF Web Site strictly for internal (e.g. clerical, compliance, or historical) purposes.

Disclosure to Governmental Authorities. MFF may release personal or institutional information to appropriate governmental authorities where release is required by law (e.g., a subpoena) or by a regulation, or is requested by a government agency conducting investigations or proceedings.

3. Use of Computer Tracking Technologies.

(a) No Tracking of Personal Information. MFF’s website is not set up to track, collect or distribute personal information not entered by visitors. Our site logs do generate certain kinds of non-identifying site usage data, such as the number of hits and visits to our sites. This information is used for internal purposes, but, again, the statistics contain no personal information and cannot be used to gather such information.

4. Information Security.

No Liability for Acts of Third Parties. MFF will exercise all reasonable efforts to safeguard the confidentiality of applicant’s personal information. However, transmissions protected by industry standard security technology and implemented by human beings cannot be made absolutely secure. Consequently, MFF shall not be liable for unauthorized disclosure of personal information due to no fault of MFF including, but not limited to, errors in transmission and unauthorized acts of MFF staff and/or third parties.

5. Privacy Policy Changes and Opt-Out Rights.

(a) Changes to Privacy Policy. This privacy notice was last updated on October 31, 2023 [Boo!]. MFF reserves the right to change or update its privacy policy statement at any time.

(b) Opt-Out Right. Applicant has the right at any time to cease permitting personal or institutional information to be collected and held by MFF. Right of cancellation may be exercised by contactingMFF via email. After processing the cancellation, MFF will delete applicant’s personal and/or institutional information from its database, except in instances where the information is part of a historical record(s) of previous grant dispersals from MFF to applicant.

(c) Corrections and Changes to Personal Information. Help MFF to keep personal/institutional information accurate. If applicant’s personal or institutional information changes, or if applicant notes an error upon review of their information that MFF has on file, please promptly contact MFF and provide the new or correct information.

6. Accountability.

(a) Questions, Problems and Complaints. If you have a question about this policy statement, or a complaint about MFF’s compliance with this privacy policy, you may contact MFF.

Terms of Use. If applicant chooses to enter into a grant application, applicant's action is hereby deemed acceptance of MFF’s practices described in this policy statement. Any dispute over privacy between applicant and MFF is subject to the provisions of this notice.

7. MFF is based in the United States.

(a) MFF is based in the United States and the information we collect is governed by U.S. law. By accessing or using MFF website or otherwise providing information to us, you consent to the processing and transfer of information in and to the U.S. and other countries, where you may not have the same rights and protections as you do under local law.

If, in your interactions with the Site, you are linked or directed to, or click on, a third party website, we cannot control what information you may provide to that party or on that website, and we are not responsible for how that party may use or disclose any information you may provide to them.
